The Full Brow Appointment Process — From Mapping to Touch-Up

If you’ve never had a PMU brow appointment before, here’s exactly what to expect — step by step.

The Consultation & Mapping

We always start by talking about your goals.
Do you want to fill in over-plucked areas? Create more symmetry? Go bolder, or keep things soft and natural?
Once I understand your style, I map your brows based on your current hair, bone structure, and facial features.
We fine-tune until you approve the shape — thickness, arch, and length. This process takes about 30–60 minutes and ensures your brows truly fit your face.

Tattooing & Numbing

Once you approve the design, I lightly outline the mapped shape, then begin shading to open the skin.
At that point, numbing goes on — and it works for about 98% of my clients.
If you’ve ever been resistant to numbing at the dentist, you might also be resistanty to numbing during pmu and feel a bit more sensitivity here, but most clients describe it as a 2 or 3 on the pain scale.
Many even fall asleep once we get started.

Healing & Aftercare

Right after your appointment, I’ll provide you with a kit and go over detailed aftercare instructions.
You’ll wash your brows that night with the cleanser provided to you, and then every morning and evening until flaking finishes — usually around days 4 to 10. Please note, not washing thoroughly could cause scabbing due to plasma build up. We want to avoid this as it pull out pigment during healing, so please wash them well!

During the healing process, it’s completely normal to go through a “ghosting” phase, where brows look lighter or like they may have disappeared. No worries, that’s just new skin cells forming on top of the pigment. We need to give your skin 5 weeks to see the true color.

PMU is a two step process. You’ll come back 6-8 weeks later for your touch up aka perfecting session. Here we’ll refine the tone, definition, and/or thickness.
